Terms of service
Last updated 2026-09-14. Apptakes is provided by Practical Business AI (PBAI), Monroe, Louisiana, USA. Apptakes is in beta.
1. The service
Apptakes gives a developer a script tag that, once a tester consents, records activity in the developer's web app and produces reports for that developer. What is recorded and kept is described in the Privacy page, which is part of these terms.
2. Your responsibilities as a developer
- You own your app and are responsible for what it shows testers. Use test data on beta pages; visible page content can appear in replays.
- You must have the right to record your testers. Apptakes shows a consent dialog before recording anything, and you must not remove, hide, or work around it.
- Do not load the widget on pages that show other people's private data, payment forms, or admin functions.
- If you set a beta test login, use a tester-level account only. Anyone who identifies as a tester on your beta pages can see it.
- You are responsible for keeping your Apptakes sign-in email secure.
3. Beta, availability, and changes
Apptakes is in beta. It may change, pause, or be withdrawn. Capture is best-effort: a closed tab or a lost connection can drop the last moments of a session. We do not guarantee that every event, note, or recording arrives.
4. Fees
During the beta, Apptakes is free. When paid plans begin, pricing will be per app per month with a free allowance of sessions, and you will be shown the price and asked to subscribe before anything is charged. Nothing is charged automatically.
5. Data and deletion
Your data is yours. You can export it as JSON and delete any app at any time; deletion removes that app's sessions, notes, events, replays, and recordings. Replay and screen-video files are deleted automatically 30 days after a session regardless.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Apptakes to record people without their knowledge, to collect payment card data, health records, or credentials, or in any way that breaks the law where you or your testers are.
7. Liability
Apptakes is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, PBAI is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim (which, during the beta, is zero).
